Celebrate Wisconsin’s dairy artisans and original cheeses with the Fourth Annual Wisconsin Cheese Originals Festival.  This year’s event takes place November 9 – 10 at Monona Terrace.

You’ll get a chance to meet cheesemakers through a variety of events, including creamery and farm tours,cheesemaker dinnerseducational and tasting seminars, and the popularMeet the Cheesemaker Gala.

The Annual Wisconsin Cheese Originals Festival is hosted by Wisconsin Cheese Originals, a member-based organization dedicated to celebrating Wisconsin artisan cheeses and cheesemakers.

All tickets sold in advance and cost $29.00.

Home Depot Kids Workshop November 3rd- Build a Turkey Napkin Holder

Home Depot Kids WorkshopThis Saturday, November 3, 2012, bring your kids to Home Depot for the FREE Kids Workshop.

On the first Saturday of every month, Home Depot offers a fun activity for kids ages 5-12. For the November workshop, kids will get to build a turkey napkin holder while learning about tool safety.

The workshop hours are 9 a.m. to noon–stop in any time. On average, it takes about 20 minutes to complete the activity. The time it takes will depend on your kids though, so be sure to allow plenty of time. Sheila mentioned it usually takes her kids (ages 5 and 7) 40 minutes to complete the activity.

Each participant will get to take home their project, a Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin, and a certificate.

ShredFestShred your personal documents at the Better Business Bureau (BBB) ShredFest on October 20, 2012.

According the BBB, “most identity theft crimes occur when something containing your personal information is lost or stolen.”

Bring up to three boxes of personal documents to ShredFest for free document shredding, and learn how to protect yourself from identity theft.

ShredFest is happening at three locations in Wisconsin on Saturday, October 20th:

Shred all unneeded items that contain your Social Security number, birthdate, passwords, account numbers, medical and dental bills, and documents that include your signature.

Freakfest 2012 – Enter to WIN!

Freakfest 2012October is here and with that comes apple cider, leaf piles, and Freakfest! Freakfest is the annual Halloween party held on State Street.

The event is Saturday, October 27, 2012, with gates opening at 7 p.m.

General Admission tickets are $8 in advance and $12 the day of the event.

You can also get VIP tickets for $35. VIP tickets offer the following perks:

  • Dedicated viewing area of the stage (no need to show up early to guarantee a spot)
  • Complimentary Pepsi/Mountain Dew products
  • Dedicated bathrooms

There will be three stages of entertainment: Capitol Stage (MAC MILLER, Prof, Kids These Days), Gilman Stage (BIG GIGANTIC, Nobody Beats the Drum, Kids these Days), and Frances Street Stage (Roster McCabe, Gentlemen Hall).

Free Starbucks Coffee & Bakery Treats this Friday

Greenway Station Coffee StationCheck out this cool event happening this Friday at Greenway Station! It’s called, “Cafe Buzz: Get the Buzz at Middleton’s Largest Coffee Break.”

Enjoy free Starbucks coffee, bakery treats, and live music by Ken Wheaton and Steve Peterson. Cindy and Barry Alvarez will be on hand to serve coffee.

This is a free event, but a $1 per person is a suggested donation for Gilda’s Club of Madison.
