Smithsonian Magazine Offers Free Admission to Local Museums

Smithsonian Museum DaySmithsonian magazine is hosting their annual Museum Day. Museums across the country are offering free admission on Saturday, September 24, 2011.

The Museum Day ticket is good for two people per household, per email address–you will need to pay full admission for the rest of your household.

In Wisconsin, 15 museums are participating in Museum Day. Locally, you can get free admission to the following museums:

  • Madison Children’s Museum
  • Olbrich Botanical Gardens
  • Wisconsin Historical Museum
  • H.H. Bennett Studio (Wisconsin Dells)

Other Wisconsin locations include:

  • Betty Brinn Children’s Museum (Milwaukee)
  • Chippewa Valley Museum (Eau Claire)
  • Haggerty Museum of Art (Milwaukee)
  • Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum (Wausau)
  • Milwaukee Art Museum (Milwaukee)
  • New Richmond Heritage Center (New Richmond)
  • Racine Art Museum (Racine)
  • Rassbach Heritage Museum (Menomonie)
  • The Octagon House and America’s First Kindergarten (Watertown)
  • Waukesha County Museum (Waukesha)
  • Wisconsin Maritime Museum (Manitowoc)
