Do you have Halloween candy coming out your ears?  With so many opportunities to Trick-or-treat, your house may be overflowing like ours.  Did you know that you can get cold hard cash for Halloween candy that your kids collect?  The candy is then sent overseas to our brave men and women in the armed services.

How does the Candy Buy Back work?

  • Participating dentists “buy” back kids’ Halloween candy at a scheduled event
  • “Buy” with cash, coupons, toothbrushes, creative exchanges – They can partner with local businesses to give away coupons for food, services, goods, etc.
  • They can give away the Hygiene Kits, they can set up an Opportunity Prize–each kid gets a ticket per pound of candy for an opportunity drawing to win special prizes, etc.
  • Dentists send the candy to Operation Gratitude or other Military support groups
  • Operation Gratitude sends the candy to U.S. Military deployed in harm’s way

Here’s a fun event for your little ghosts and goblins.  Halloween at the Henry Vilas Zoo will take place on Sunday, October 28th from 10 am to 4 pm.

Kids get a chance to dress up in costume and trick-or-treat throughout the zoo.  There’s also a Fun Activity Tent and live music, too.

This trick-or-treating event has been around since 1987.

Halloween at the Zoo has proven itself to be a steadfast, supported and celebrated tradition that is endorsed by local Police & Fire agencies as, “A neat place to meet for a safe trick-or-treat.” Since its inception in 1987, the event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the Henry Vilas Zoo.
