US Bank EveRing in the New Year with your entire family at U.S. Bank Eve community celebration on Saturday, December 31, 2012.

Discounted tickets may be purchased at any of the 10 U.S. Bank locations in Madison. Tickets may also be purchased at the door, but you will pay a bit more.

Tickets are good for any of the six site locations and admission is dependent on available space at each location.

Advance tickets: $5.00
At the door: $7.00

Under 5 are FREE
Ages 5-15: $3.00 (advance tickets) and $5.00 (at the door)

Family Pass (2 adult tickets and 1 ticket for up to 3 children ages 5 and up in the family–children under 5 are free):

Highlights: Ice skating: bring your own skates, rent skates for $2 or donate two non-perishable food items and rent skates for free! Swimming, gym games, cake walk, bouncy castle, raffle, and lots more!

Highlights: Learn to Salsa 6-8 p.m., temporary tattoos, raffle, cookie decorating from 5-7 p.m.(while supplies last), inflatables, and lots more!

The museum is located at 100 N. Hamilton Street on Madison’s Capitol Square.  It features three floors of exhibits designed for children up to age 12 and the their families.

The Madison Children’s Museum features Twilight Wednesdays every month.  That means you can get in free from 5 – 8pm the first Wednesday of the month.

Free Admission to WI Museums with Museum Day Ticket

Smithsonian  magazine Museum DaySmithsonian magazine is hosting their annual Museum Day on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Museums across the country are offering free admission with a Museum Day Ticket.

The Museum Day ticket is good for two people per household, per email address–you will need to pay full admission for the rest of your household.

In Wisconsin, 15 museums are participating in Museum Day. Locally, you can get free admission to the following museums:

  • Madison Children’s Museum
  • Olbrich Botanical Gardens
  • Wisconsin Historical Museum
  • H.H. Bennett Studio (Wisconsin Dells)

The Isthmus and Madison’s Favorites Host Pop-Up Parties

Isthmus readers recently voted for their Madison Favorites–the results are listed in the August 23, 2012, edition of the Isthmus. To celebrate, the Isthmus along with local businesses are hosting “pop-up parties” today and tomorrow (Thursday & Friday–August 23-24, 2012).

Each winning business will have a brief celebration (15-30 minutes) and a great offer for guests! Here’s the schedule of events provided by the Isthmus:

Thursday, Aug. 23:

  • 11 a.m. at Madison Children’s Museum: Buy one get one admission from 9:30am-12 and a make your own medal award!
  • Noon at Capitol Kids: We’ll be there at noon, but all day they’ll have surprises for kids, back-to-school specials, and they’ll donate 20% of all sales on Thursday to the Foundation for Madison’s Public Schools!
  • 1 p.m. at Fromagination: Free beer & cheese samples, plus chocolate chip cookies!
  • 2 p.m. at Jazzman: Save 20% to 50% throughout the entire store!

  • 3 p.m. at Batch Bakehouse: Free baked goodness and t-shirt giveaways!

  • 5 p.m. at Steve’s Liquor on University Avenue: Free sparkling wine & cheese samples!
